Janie Update 1-22-09

"I'm free!" That's what Janie said as she came home smiling from
the doctor's office...no tubes taped all over her front. Pulling those things out was a much nicer experience than putting them in. We are very grateful for the technology and the doctor's know-how and the procedure: Janie's lungs are stuck back in place! Now it's a matter of getting them to stay there. Dr. Louras said that just because they are back in place doesn't mean that they can't come loose again in the future.

What this means for Janie at home is, well, we just don't want her to cough at all. Any time she does cough, she (and I) imagine her lungs coming loose at that very moment. That's probably not the case - it probably takes a lot more than a cough or two to shake them loose, but you can imagine the paranoia that would take control if she (or I) let it...

God has had His hand upon us through all of this. He promised Joshua, "As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you." Joshua 1:5. If that's good enough for Joshua, it's good enough for us.

Oh, also...not to sound like a broken record or anything, but we really mean it when we say thank you all so much for praying for us! Thank you also for the encouraging cards and emails - it really does lift the spirits to know we are being thought of and prayed for. And a special thanks too for the meals from our church family...some of you hardly know us and yet you deliver a wonderful dinner to us...amazing. God's love has been lavished on us through you.
