Janie's Christmas Stocking 2011

So it's time for the big reveal of a new twist on Janie's Christmas Stocking: Online giving! Yep, you don't need to mail a check or catch me in the hall with cash (unless you are Steve and Ruth Hall) or give me your firstborn or right arm or anything! Food For The Hungry has graciously set me up with a page for Janie's Christmas Stocking, and it's pretty cool.

If you don't yet know what this is about, click here, and for where it all came from, click here.

We are extending the deadline to December 31 this time.

Also, if you would still prefer to
contribute to buying the well by way of this old-school thing called a check (a check, evidently, is a way of paying for things by writing letters and numbers on a piece of paper and mysteriously, people accept it as payment! Groovy!),  you can mail it to Chris Booth, c/o Calvary Bible Church, 2 Meadow Lane, Rutland, VT 05701. Make it out to Food For The Hungry and write "Janie's Stocking" in the memo. It will be tax deductible - huzzah!

You may have heard of Sara Groves, a singer songwriter who Janie (and I) listened to a lot. She is a big fan of Food For The Hungry...she wrote a very moving song about her visit to a Rwandan community...

I learned today that the well will be built in Kenya which is experiencing a terrible drought right now.

Please click over to the online giving page to see a 29 second video clip of one of these wells in action. The sound of the water is so beautiful, it kind of makes me want to cry.

Thank you again for being a part of this special Christmas giving event for the Booth family!
