Those galaxies are way out near the 'edges' of the known universe. This video (after the jump) shows
them (somewhat) in 3D....yeah, yeah, the guy says 'billions of years,' but we've come to expect that, right? ....at least my Gap Theory and Day-Age Theory Christian friends (both of you) won't be mad about it haha.
Anyway, enjoy this amazing 3D 'snapshot' of a piece of the sky, and marvel at our God's handiwork. Also, have a look at more dramatic Hubble images here.
The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words,
whose voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
Psalm 19:1-4
ok... I'm twice humbled. First humbling occured as I sat here waiting for your blog to load and I'm looking at your header and it occurs to me... "Earnestly ICQ". Hmmmm I must know what the ICQ stands for... surely its divulged somewhere within reach.... huh?! that's odd, why did I never think about this before? I - C - Q? ......................oh! oohhhhhh... I am really really dense. Earnestly ICQ. Very clever. Me... not so much. ;]
ReplyDeleteThe greater humbling comes by way of your blog post and this web site I caught a few weeks ago that a friend put on Facebook. You gotta check this out. We ordered the DVD for church, but you can also view the segments on youtube for a preview... WOW! Our God is so AMAZING!
http://www.bethlehemstar.net/ Check it out!
ICQ...maybe a bit too clever...you are not the first to not 'get it' right away. Psalm 63 is my favorite, that's all...
ReplyDeleteI wonder how long the blog takes to load for everyone? It's reasonably fast for me, but some others have mentioned they go do the dishes or something....the new look does tax the processor a bit, so maybe it was a bad idea to 'upgrade'............
I've seen the Star of Bethlehem thing! I'm like you Tim...I want to not swallow it right away. I suppose that guy's conclusions could be right. If so, cool! If not, well, that's ok, it doesn't change the truth of the Scriptures a bit....
