Janie Update 4-7-10

Ok, this is rather awesome: Janie has slept through the night for two nights in a row now!

Her legs aren't as full of fluid, she thinks. She had an easier time getting around today.

AND, ready for this? She went to the grocery store by herself! And she bought stuff.

We're pleased as punch, though she still is coughing. But oh, what a difference to know that the coughing doesn't seem to be collapsing her lungs!

  1. Thank you God, Your mercies are really new every morning.
Chris & Janie, I wish I could share effectively (maybe I'll have to blog it) how God is teaching me and changing my heart as I learn to pray for others in further out parts... trusting God to care for those beyond my physical reach or even my personal relationship. Simply coming to Him in trust and obedience to be the church and to love and pray for those Christ came to save. You're both a part of my training... and I give thanks to God for both of you. (it may be small, but I've been asking God for a month of coughing relief...) Thanks for sharing these evidences of His mercy and grace.

  2. Three nights as of this morning! Though today she woke up at 5:15, but that counts, right?

    thanks for your prayers..........

Tim , I appreciate the difficulty in praying for people we don't really know: like missionaries we've never met for instance. Distance makes it harder, but the internet brings them closer, right?

  3. I pray for her when I wake up in the night, which isn't infrequent!

  4. I pray in the night too...actually, there are some wonderful Psalms where David talks about praying through the watches of the night. Psalm 63:6 and Psalm 119:148 for example. I love it that I'm not the only one...comforting somehow..thanks for your prayers Carol et al
